Vintage Man and Woman Planter - Japan
This darling planter adorned with a man playing a squeeze box and a lady with her shopping bag of vegetables is stamped Japan and has a makers mark on the bottom. Bottom unglazed pottery looks old and the glaze on the piece is crackled as a lot of older glazes are! Piece measures 4 1/2" tall and the same wide and about 3 1/2" deep!

Could not find a copyright but it was published by The Saalfield Publishing Company, Chicago, Akron Ohio, and New York The novel is about a teenage boy who's mother dies and leaves him dependant on a step father he does not like...he leaves home and struggles later with regaining his true inheritance.
